i was watching the tragedy in the gulf continue to unfold on the news, and this pearl jam song came to mind. and this video pretty much sums up all there is to say about it.

our oceans are beautiful, and only someone who has been truly touched by its magic can write a song that delicate and emotional.

irony of ironies

the last piece of the puzzle, my dura-ace cog is currently sitting in my mailbox. it has been sitting there for a few hours now. i'm sure of it because i heard the mailman come.

but... i cannot for the life of me find the mailbox key. i have looked everywhere. i even rummaged through the trash. where could i have put it. i'm so mad right now.
