nanking

off to nanjing, to catch up with some old friends, and take in the sights.

so far i've travelled about 700 miles on high speed rail and it should take another 3 more hours on traditional rail to complete this 1000 mile journey. and then when i finally reach nanjing, it shall be the start of another whole different adventure.

on a slightly lighter note, some rants/wisdoms gathered so far:

1. relatives and family friends need to stop giving me money like it's chinese new year for 2 very simple reasons: it's not chinese new year and i'm not dead yet. sanQ.

2. i've often been told that i need to speak up in order to facilitate better communication. i beg to differ: my cousin is speech impaired, yet every time i meet him, the level of understanding is astounding with minimal words uttered. this is also one reason why learning sign language is on my bucket list.

3. sometimes people who seldom show the spiritual side of themselves are the most spiritual of beings.

4. the further inland i traverse, the clearer i see the bigger picture, the social, the political, the economic. i want to do my part to help some time in the future.
