two.
it's an ambiguous number. it can mean unity at times, yet also harbours the ability to divide. it seems that two is the law of nature when it comes to a lot of things, like the continuation of the genetic lineage. even the inherent cellular blue-print from which we were built upon comes in the form of two chains intertwined in a double helix structure.
in jewish law the testimony of two is required to validate significant events; animals boarded noah's ark in twos; there are always two sides of the coin to everything; our limbs come in pairs of two; the finnish traditionally put two candles on their windowsill on independence day; the binary numbr system is based on two numbers.
ambiguity, polarity or togetherness? i think it depends on how you choose to look at any given matter. it's the outlook that defines the state of being, just like how the number two can give you a sense of ambivalence. i shall always choose to look at things on the bright side:
two.
